Here's quite a nice video tour of Vietnam, including some of the interesting sights and sounds on the way to Halong Bay. In fact, during this 6:30-long video, the famous limestone peaks in Ha Long Bay and cruising the waters around the bay play but a small role; instead, it is the people and culture along the trip to and from the boat that makes it work. Plus, I really like the choice of music!
I'm beginning to think that Ha Long Bay (Halong Bay) in Vietnam is the most videotaped destination in South East Asia, and with good reason. Here is another video compilation of stunning still photos of the limestone mountains and rock formations in the bay. Although you have to ignore the web site promotion from the Vietnamese travel company, it's still worth seeing the photos if you're planning a trip or holiday vacation to the area.
I really liked this video, since it shows a part of famous Ha Long Bay (Halong Bay) in Vietnam that often isn't shown - how the local Vietnamese population lives. This video is a single continuous shot that shows the local floating and fishing village, while also capturing the natural beauty of the unique lime cliffs and mountains that make up this Unesco World Heritage site. I know it's a bit intrusive, but I also liked seeing some of the boat homes (complete with dogs barking) close up as well.
This is a great, long video showing Ha Long Bay (Halong Bay) in Vietnam. At over 6 minutes long, this video travels through the amazing limestone mountains, in and around the caves, and shows some night time scenes as well. Of course, at this Unesco Heritage Site, you'll see the tourist boats and some of the local working boats too. So grab a coffee (or your favourite beverage) and enjoy this spectacular part of South East Asia.
Here's a short look at the Mekong Delta in South Vietnam. Highlighted by the winding canals and Mekong River, I was surprised that it is the third largest delta in the world! This video also highlights the city of My Tho near Saigon, which is really interesting on its own.
